Artwork Requirements for Standard CDs
The printed surface of the CD or DVD is on a circle with diameter of 117mm. As the stacking ring at the centre of the disc varies with different manufacturing options it is best to leave centre with no vital text or images within a ring of 40mm. Variations occur with method of print that depends on numbers to be manufactured.

Offset Printing on 12cm CDs
For most orders of 1000 discs or more we prefer to print on the discs using an offset printing process. This is the highest quality print available for CDs. Note that this option usually has a lead time of 12-14 working days.

Screen Printing on 12cm CD-Rs
If you need to have large numbers of blank discs printed (more than 500 discs), screenprinting is usually the best solution. The print quality is almost as good as offset printing. It is sometimes possible to offset print on blank discs, so please speak with us before you use our screenprinting template.
In the template provided it shows printable interior ring with an unprintable area either side.

Digital Printing on 12cm CD-Rs
If you need your discs turned around very quickly (ie. in just a few days), or if you require only small numbers (under 500 discs), digital printing is usually the most practical solution.

Laser Printing on Stickers for 12cm CD-Rs
This option is also only used for fast turn around or short runs. We would usually only recommend using stickers when your artwork is very dark or uses a lot of colour covering the entire disc. Note that this also allows printing to the middle of the disc.
